ECCE Scheme

Free Pre-school Education In Ireland

The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme is a Government funded initiative that
provides FREE early childhood care and education for all pre-shool age children in Ireland.

As of September 2018, children can begin ECCE from 2 years and 8 months of age and continue
to attend until they start primary school (provided that they are no older than 5 years and 6
months at the end of the pre-school year).

It’s an initiative that your child can avail of in most Park Academy Childcare creches and
we are very proud to be part of it.

The normal pattern for the free pre-school year is 3 hours per day, 5 days a week over 38 weeks.
If your child attends for longer than this each day, you will be charged for the extra time.
Applying for ECCE funding is easy – you will simply need to provide your child’s PPS number.
However spaces are limited so booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment.

To find our if your child is eligible for ECCE, or to check availability in your chosen Park
