What is emergent learning?
Emergent learning is a modern educational philosophy that develops important pre-academic skills in core areas like reading, writing, and mathematics.
Instead of delivering topic-based lessons, our educators are guided by children’s emerging interests and attractions to certain topics and areas. Through careful observation and reflection, we work with children to discover what inspires them and drives their curiosity.
Our emergent learning philosophy is underpinned by the national Aistear curriculum for early years education.
Nutrition matters
A healthy, nutritious diet, free from processed and high-sugar foods, is a key part of Park Academy Childcare’s emergent learning philosophy.
Our meals are prepared daily in our own kitchens by a dedicated team of specially trained chefs. Weekly menus are displayed on every centre’s noticeboard, and we are happy to prepare meals for children with specific dietary or religious requirements.
The great outdoors
Outdoor play is an extraordinarily powerful way for children to learn. Many of our Park Academy Childcare centres have their own outdoor areas with sand pits, play areas, and gardens.
Our special Nature Kindergarten, nestled in the beautiful parklands of Killruddery Estate in Bray, lets children aged 3-5 play and discover in a natural and safe forest environment that taps into their innate sense of wonder.
